MyBlogLog turns 'purple'

Mybloglog Ever since getting introduced to MyBlogLog by fellow Yahoo Greg Cohn, I've been hooked. Today Yahoo! announced that MyBlogLog will now be part of the Yahoo! family under the direction of Chad Dickerson ... another tremendous acquisition  on-par with flickr and delicious for these web-apps' ability to connect users with interesting(ness) [TM] content and people on the web.

In case you've never seen MyBlogLog in action, there are several benefits to implementing this fancy little widget on your site. For the passionate blogger, you can see your individual visitors (instead of looking at log-files and analytic tools that aggregate visitor information.) The 99/1 rule is in effect with visitors that *also* post a comment. (Prior to MyBlogLog, seeing someone comment on a particular blog post was your only window into individuals that were reading your blog.) Now...you can see who's visited and link through to see what other websites they author and visit.

Rumored for quite sometime (most recently making it on Jeremy Shoemoney's 2007 "Official" predictions list) it's great to see the acquisition news go public.

Kudos to all that had a hand to make this deal a reality. I'm looking forward to seeing how YPN can play a role in introducing MyBlogLog to an even larger and passionate audience.
